New found op shop love

Today we had a quick op shop visit and I grabbed a couple of plates which I’m taking along to an Etsy Australia event this week. I’m very excited to be going to a crafty plate painting event. Plate painting has been one of those things I’ve admired and considered doing for a while (because I really need another hobby and all!).

I’m actually just going to paint on the medium saucer size plates, the smaller ones are tiny… for sauces etc, I just couldn’t help but buy them because they are so cheap and we actually truly do need little plates for sauce.

A moment to treasure

I started creating Etsy treasuries just a few weeks ago. Today my treasury with a theme of all Australia (Australian stores), blue gift items under $100 made the Etsy homepage. I’m quite proud of my efforts at collating a nice set of Aussie gift like items. I’m also very happy that I put my friend Jess of Fox Parse dress in the treasury. She got over 1,000 views and sold something all in an hour!

I find creating treasuries to be a little therapeutic… it also reminds me of covering my books with themed pictures etc when I was at school… ommm *cough* that was a long time ago.

Creating treasuries is also a great way to network with the Etsy community, I’ve come across some amazing stores and had interactions with many amazing creative people already!

Inspiration Thursday

Today I worked a short day, visited my Naturopath and went to the Marche Rouge Christmas shopping event at the Nicholas Building (Swanston St, Melbourne) with a crafty friend where I drooled over hand crafted goods, vintage buttons etc. I also experienced a “biscuit reading” (apparently I’m a Tim Tam) while there and brought some gorgeous ribbon… and some cute apple buttons.

I also sold a Pirate Bunny in my Etsy store and arrived home to find the new Peppermint magazine waiting for me in my mailbox. A simple but inspiring day.

Clever Rabbit – new brooch design

I put a new brooch into the Aimzsta Etsy shop yesterday, his name is Clever Rabbit, he’s one of the characters from my Happy Glasses Friends set of button badges which I created a while back. Clever Rabbit brooch has hand painted red glasses for extra cute-ness!
