A while back a good friend gave me a book filled with dog treat recipes… today I finally got around to using it. I altered a recipe… so much so that I now call this one my own. My rock dog schnauzer Lemmy LOVES these treats and suggests all dog owners make them for their little loved ones (of the dog variety that is).

"zomg…nom nom nom nom… chewy chicken tuna men"
Chewy chicken tuna men
Ingredients
200 grams of very teeny tiny chopped chicken (or put it in a food processor)
50 grams of tuna (half one of those little tins)
1 tablespoon of oil (I used vegetable)
100 ml buttermilk (might need to add a little more depending on consistancy)
2 cups wholegrain plain flour
Method
Mix everything together then kneed into a neat ball of dough (add a little more buttermilk if the dough seems to dry).
Wrap in a tea towel and put in the fridge for 30 minutes.
Roll out dough on a floured surface with a rolling pin (to about 1.5cm high) then use cookie cutters to cut out biscuits.
Bake in 180 degrees celsius, fan forced oven for 30 minutes. Turn oven off and leave biscuits in there to dry for an hour (unless your oven doesn’t cool very well, then you might wanna take them out earlier).
Enjoy! (… well I mean watch your puppy enjoy)
